Assigned by his newspaper to cover the Beatles 1st tour in 1964, he soon found himself swept up in the excitement of the history-making moments that occured every day. Gaining the band's friendship, Kane soon became a confidant in the inner circle, and toured with them again in 1965 across the US and Canada.
