The excitement of the live audience clearly comes across in this 5-Grammy-winning production recorded live at Carnegie Hall. Judy is at her best, entertaining her audience with humorous anecdotes from her recent tour of the continent, kibitzing with members of the jazz band, and providing 4 encores at the end. She pulls out all the stops in a thrilling jazz session in the first half of the concert doing such favorites as "Puttin' on the Ritz", "Just You, Just Me", and "Who Cares". During the second half, she does 3 songs with Mort Lindsey on the piano, calming things down after her famous raucous rendition of Harold Arlen's "Come Rain or Come Shine". She performs many memorable songs from her movies including "Swanee" and a scorching version of "The Man That Got Away" from A Star is Born and "The Trolley Song" from Meet Me in St. Louis", plus a sing-a-long of "The Bells Are Ringing" from For Me & My Gal. She gives show-stopping renditions of "San Francisco", "Chicago", "Rock-a-bye Your Baby", and "After You've Gone" and of course sings her signature song, "Over the Rainbow". It is easy to see why this amazing entertainer is still so popular almost 50 years after her death.
