Pat Moore: "Impressive songwriting...engaging stage presence" (Paul McKay, Ottawa Citizen), Pat Moore's interpretative style and warm strong voice captures the listener's attention and her live performances have a natural spontaneity and groove, picking up the mood of the audience and presenting each song in a personal and entertaining way. Pat grew up in Ottawa, a member of an artistic family - and has been involved in the music scene since the late 70's, singing jazz, then with various bluegrass bands as lead and harmony singer, and playing a percussive style upright bass. It wasn't until the 90's when Pat started writing and performing her own work - songs that tell stories, with emotion and vivid imagery. About her writing, Allan Wigney (The Ottawa Sun) says "...the songs on the aptly titled The Time's Never Been Better demonstrates Moore's formidable skills at crafting original folk and country material." Over the past couple of years, Pat has had the opportunity to travel, and has enjoyed wonderful reception at various house concerts and venues in such places as Whitehorse, Victoria, Kimberly, Cranbrook, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Yellowknife. With a second CD on the horizon ("Take it to Heart" - due to be completed in October, 2006), and an exciting trio with Pat McLaughlin and Ann Downey (also with Finest Kind), Pat would be a refreshing addition to festival line-ups. "A flair for stortytelling that blends taut narratives, flesh and blood characters and vivid emotions" - Patrick Langston, The Ottawa Citizen "I chose to go see Slavek Hanzlik, Dave Clarke, Pat Moore (who has a world class voice and excellent songs), and Hurry Up And Wait ... But I do say Wow! About Pat Moore's live performance of her song Take It To Heart, with guest musical moments by Hollis Morgan on dobro, and Slavek and Dave on guitars. Pat has a voice that is so amazingly clean, evocative, and effective."- Dean Verger, Rasputin's Folk Café, Ottawa August 22, 2005 "Pat Moore has been captivating audiences throughout the Ottawa Valley for years now, both as a featured band member and soloist. Her original songs melt the barriers between country, folk, and bluegrass. Her talkes will tour ou through the backroads of the valley, past the people who live there, recounting what happened along the way. Always a welcome guest on "the Back 40"... Ron Moores, CKCU FM 93.1 "She wastes little time setting listeners into the shoes of the protagonists in her pieces" - Peter North, Edmonton Journal. "Blueberry Hill...epitomizes the songwriting in the album - there are things that everyone can relate to, and that's what makes it popular." - Chopper McKinnon, Canadian Spaces.
